This is Interesting

This was posted on WBTV.com this weekend. Thought you would find it interesting three days after we held a town hall meeting with the local Muslim community in Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Islamic Center of Charlotte is owned by an organization once connected to a plot to funnel money to terrorists.
It was the largest financing of terrorism case in U.S. History.
In 2007, the feds shut down the Holy Land Foundation for funding Hamas and other Islamic terrorist groups.
In the Holy Land trial, the government also released a list of un-indicted co-conspirators in the plot to funnel money, Including the Indiana-based North American Islamic Trust, or NAIT.
And it's NAIT that has deep ties to the Islamic Center of Charlotte.
They own it.
The Center's Jibril Hough says they gave the property to NAIT. Why?
"For protection," he says. "For anyone who may come into the city of Charlotte maybe with a radical agenda and try to take over our center."
The center relies on NAIT to keep it safe, but Hough would not admit to belonging to NAIT when he appeared on Keith Larson's radio show this morning.
"How can you say the Islamic Center of Charlotte is not affiliated with this known terror-linked organization, the North American Islamic Trust, which holds the deed?" Larson asked incredulously.
"Well the only reason I paused is because it's a tricky question," Hough told WBTV later. "I'm a member of the Islamic Center of Charlotte. Whatever that means. If you want to take that as a member of NAIT, then I guess I am."
But Hough claims he did not know NAIT was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism finance case in U.S. History.
He says he is worried though about what he read in the federal documents we showed him.
"It concerns me enough to take it to my board," Hough says. "We'll give a legitimate look at it. And then we'll come out with some kind of conclusion after that. We know time and time again that just because the federal government labels somebody a terrorist, doesn't mean it's true."
