Experienced Legislative Assistant - Midwest Republican Member on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee seeks a Legislative Assistant to handle a broad portfolio including Transportation, Telecommunications, Health Care, Science and Technology and Environment. Successful candidates will possess a solid knowledge base and strong ability to interact with constituents and interest groups. Must possess strong written and oral communications skills, be flexible and creative, be capable of working under tight deadlines, and be able to work as a team player. Internships - Texas Republican is looking for full time, unpaid fall interns. Internships will last start in September and last through the beginning/middle of December. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will be responsible for assisting with general office duties (answering phones, passing out mail, and assisting legislative staff with research and writing) and performing constituent services (scheduling tours, processing flag requests, and legislative correspondence). Additional duties are available and will be assigned according to an intern’s interest and ability.
