Khan With the Wind

Following is a story that aired last night by WBTV's Molly Grantham. Molly has done an excellent job of reporting on the goings on of one Samir Khan. Khan, you will recall has a history of blogging from Charlotte about concepts like Jihad, suicide bombings, etc. Well guess what, he has left Charlotte, traveled to Yemen and launched an al-Qaeda publication. Charlotte always wanted to be a world class city, well congrats, we have made the big time.

Charlotte man reportedly editing Al-Qaeda magazine

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Three years ago, WBTV spent weeks tracking a then-22-year-old Charlotte man writing a pro-Jihad blog from his parent's north Charlotte home. Soon after, his site was shut down.

Sources now say that man, Samir Khan, is in Yemen. National reports say he is the author of the first al-Qaeda online magazine in English.

It is a flashy and slick publication. It shows you how to make a bomb from kitchen items. There are articles reportedly written by Usama bin Laden. Anti-American sentiments are throughout its 60-plus pages.

The government is aware of this publication. It was first brought to the attention of the general public late last week.

The magazine is called "Inspire".

By Monday night, both CNN and FOX News were reporting that Samir Khan flew to Yemen on a roundtrip ticket but has yet to come back. Both quote high level government sources which say he is the new author of this al-Qaeda magazine.
